Horror Podcasts
Spotify gave horror fans a teaser of what they can expect on the podcast through a Scenario Thread on Twitter, fully immersing them into the story.
The Context With the popularity of podcasts skyrocketing in Indonesia, Spotify knew there was an opportunity to launch new podcast series in the country’s favourite genres: horror (Kisah Horror: The Sacred Riana) and crime (Pembunuh Berantai & LENYAP).
The Approach A huge part of these podcasts is the storytelling element. Spotify wanted to bring the audio experience to life for their listeners, so they used an interactive format that was similar to a “choose-your-own-adventure” game. At each junction of the story, we let the user decide how they wanted to navigate the next stage of the mysterious, dark tale laid out in the podcast, and this mimics the thrill you will get with the new podcast series on Spotify.
